I have really been slacking in both posting lately and in responding to everyone’s comments. So, I am really sorry. So very sorry. But, I am feeling like I am in a much better place and I feel like getting back into my writing and being more social. I know that I haven’t been commenting on a lot of your blogs recently, but I promise that I have been reading them.

I managed to get through Thanksgiving without killing my sister-in-law. However, she did once again prove that she is so worthy of the C-word title. But, it did give me pleasure to see that she looked like shit. I mean she could have been the picture for the expression “she’s been rode hard and put up wet”. Even Travis agreed that she looked rough. Can we say…no love lost between the two of us? I only had to be there for about 2 hours because I had to work.

The best thing about Christmas Eve…I work 3pm-11pm, so I will miss out on the whole in-law family bonding experience. I could almost cry. I will miss watching my kids open their presents, but I will see plenty of that on Christmas morning.

I have a post that I wrote earlier today, but I don’t think I will hit that “publish” button. Its a little too raw and its a little too honest, and I’m not sure that I want to put myself and others out there. Maybe someday, but not today. But still, that damn publish key is calling my name. I would like to say that I am grateful for the friends that I have. I know that any of them would be willing to help me out if I need it. In fact, Sheila (so for the no linky love…I haven’t updated to your new site yet) and her hubby and are planning on coming up to Podunk here after the holidays. Travis and I were talking about what to do when they come up here. We decided that we will dazzle them with our electricity and flushing toilets:) And, if they’re really lucky…I might even show them our lovely regional airport!! I know…its exciting!

I have to get my butt in gear with Christmas shopping. I only have a couple of things for the kids so far. Usually I am done shopping by now and have most of the wrapping done. I am WAY behind this year. I just went out today and bought Christmas cards.

Well, that’s enough babbling for the moment. I have to go and sock skate with Seth:)

I’m not even getting Christmas presents this year. I’m just telling everybody that my present to them is me getting out of debt. Hehe.

Because really i want the new mac book. It’s recyclable! That’s really selfish but whatever I probably won’t even see the people I’m buying presents for and my parents don’t mind. (Mainly because my mom will get this computer after I upgrade!)

Man I wanna go see you too! But I probably won’t be able to get off work because my boss is psycho…

o.m.g. I had to cover my mouth I was laughing so hard!!

I bought my Christmas cards last year – I just gotta figure out which bin I put them in and get them out to fill out. Oh! And I have to update my address list so that I can mail them out – hopefully on time! lol

Almost done with my shopping but I’m not sure when I’ll have time to finish. ::sigh:: Not enough at home hours to get this stuff done.

I’m actually not dreading the Christmas Eve Spectacular with the in laws this year, which is somewhat surprising.

    Eh.

Time for me go do some work so that I can go to lunch soon – starving! Woot.

I am way behind this year too! I only have stuff for N purchased, not that it matters cause we are sending the family their holiday gifts and well… we can send them after the holidays if need be.

I’m not a fan of opening presents on XMAS Eve, but it seems the rest of the family IS, so I compromised with ONE present opened XMAS Eve.

So, why didn’t I have you in my reader yet? ;-)

Sarah…It is becoming my new goal to have you move out here:) Travis has a mac book and LOVES it!

Sheila…There’s NEVER enough time in the day to do what needs to be done. Good luck finding your cards:)

Talina…I always ship my parents stuff after the holidays, then I don’t have to wait in line at the post office for hours!

Whall: I’m not a big Xmas Eve present opener either. But, its how the MIL likes it, and heaven forbid you say “no” to her!

LeSombre…Because you are le silly ;)

We never opened gifts on Xmas Eve, and we tried to convince my mom lol.

We have pizza and watch Christmas movies (and I drink)

My daughter’s dad does the Christmas Eve thing. When she was little she stayed overnight with him, and I asked him to keep one Santa gift for morning. He forgot, and she phoned me crying, “I wasn’t bad mommy, and Santa didn’t bring me anything!”,, I had to tell her Santa came to our house instead, and it was waiting for her there. I hate the Christmas Eve thing, gotta have something for the morning. This year my family agreed instead of doing the gift thing, we are each going to buy a set amount of scratch tickets and mix them up and put them on everyones dinner plates. Much cheaper than buying gifts, and only the younger kids will get stuff from all of us. There is always the ‘extended’ family that are there that we buy for out of obligation so it gets a bit awkward as none of us has the extra cash to come up with the spectalular stuff we buy for spouses/children/grandchildern, and sadly they expect it.

I still owe you an email! Haven’t forgotten. So definitely don’t feel bad on my account. I’m not worthy.

I know I keep saying this but… more later.

    Sorry about Christmas Eve. :0(

Dustin…I like your family Christmas. I would be drinking right along with you:)

Lori…Your poor daughter! How traumatic to think that Santa didn’t visit! Good luck with the scratch offs, I hope you win big!

Aravis…You’re alive!! And you are so worth it, so there:)
